Past Gifted Items - 2019-2020 GOAL - Playground Equipment
The PTA hopes to raise funds this year to update our schools playground equipment and areas. We hope to do so by setting up a student idea submission contest. Past Gifted Items: - 2018/2019 Gift - Teacher Gift Cards Each teacher received an Amazon gift card to purchase items they need for their classrooms and curriculum. The gifts were more than well deserved! - 2017/2018 Gift- Gym Wall Mats These mats help not only with safety in the gym but also help to absorb some of the sound in the gym that is used as an auditorium type space for concerts, assemblies, etc. - 2016/2017 Gift- Media Center Play Center This gift gives students the opportunities to release some energy by climbing around or kick back inside and read a book. |
FAQS
Q: How many people became PTA members last year and do you really need more volunteers?
A: Last year 55 non-teachers were PTA members, and we absolutely need more volunteers.
Normally it is a small group of people who show up to help with fundraisers and events. We welcome more help and we would like to increase membership significantly.
Q: How much does it cost to become a PTA member and does it commit me to anything?
A: $6 and becoming a member comes with no obligation whatsoever.
Q: If I become a member or volunteer will I be pressured to do more?
A: No, our policy is not to pressure people. We will be sending out information to all parents and guardians at various times and we will not single anybody out. If you feel pressured please let us know.
Q: What kind of skills do I need in order to help?
A: Any and all skills are needed. You would be surprised at how much you could contribute. When opportunities arise, we will be sending out specific requests.
Q: How much time would I need to devote to volunteering at school or an event?
A: However much time you have and/or are willing to share. If somebody from every family gave 1-2 hours/year it would make a tremendous difference.
Q: Does the PTA really listen to parents?
A: Absolutely! We encourage everyone to come to open PTA meetings, send us e-mails, flag us down in the hallway, shout at us across the gym, etc. We want to hear your opinions and the more people involved the stronger our school becomes.
